KPMG Engaged for SSAE 16 Readiness Assessment

In its efforts to become compliant with the new “SSAE 16″ standards, SecureData today announced that KPMG has been engaged to complete a readiness assessment of our Canton, OH data center facility.

The auditing firm will review control points, processes, and documentation, and will provide recommendations that will serve as the foundation for SecureData’s efforts to attain compliance with with the industry’s new internationally accepted SSAE 16 SOC 1 standard.  SSAE 16 SOC 1 is the most recent iteration of the former SAS70 standard.  SecureData expects to complete the assessment mid-year, and enter in to our full SSAE 16 review by the end of 2012.

“With SSAE16 replacing SAS 70, we wanted to make sure we were compliant as soon as possible, explains SecureData General Manager Scott Woodbridge. “Achieving compliance demonstrates our commitment to our clients that we support financial reporting obligations.”

SSAE16 compliance ensures proper controls and procedures for SecureData’s:

  • Logical Access and Security
  • Physical Access
  • Environmental Controls
  • Infrastructure Change Management
  • Data Backup
  • Problem and Incident Management
